Bread Machine Wheat Bread Recipe
This recipe is for a two pound loaf. Follow the instructions that came with your bread machine in terms of which ingredients to put in the bread machine first. This recipe can be cooked either on the white or wheat setting.
Ingredients
1 – 1/2 C. Water
2 – 1/3 C. Bread Flour
2 – 1/3 C. Whole Wheat Flour
2 Tbsp. Sugar
1 – 1/2 tsp. Salt
3 Tbsp Olive Oil
2 tsp Yeast
An interesting ingredient that you might try is an ‘Onion Soup Mix’ packet.
Gives a wonderful smell and makes a delicious bread. I like to do it with wheat bread, and I use sour cream to give the loaf a good texture.
(And, of course, nothing beats grinding your own wheat …)
