First a small explanation about the mobile orchard/vineyard – we’re growing things in pots so that we can take our trees and vines with us when we move to a place with more elbowroom. Some of the plants are three years old. To prevent the plants from getting root bound The Man of the House trims the roots every year. He just got done with this annual adventure last Saturday.
We woke up today to the sound of the wind blowing outside. It sounded a lot stronger than normal. I looked out into the backyard and saw that two apple trees had been blown out of their pots. Their newly trimmed root balls were sitting on top of the pots.
Luckily the trunks didn’t break so the trees should be fine. TMOTH will replant them later today. Here’s a photo of them in their temporary spot on the porch.
