We’re trying to include more vegetables in our diet. As we expand our veggie repertoire we’re questioning what’s the best value – canned or frozen vegetables.
We’ve been in the habit of picking up canned veggies at Costco. That’s worked well for us as the cans store well. We don’t lose anything to spoilage if we take longer to use it than anticipated.
I did some quick research on an online grocery site. It seems that frozen vegetables can be just as economical as canned. While the small packages of vegetables with sauce can be spendy, large bags of plain, frozen veggies are a good deal. As an added benefit frozen veggies should taste much better than canned.
As we change our diet I’ll be sure to post the results of our cost and taste analysis. You can also look forward to more vegetable recipes.
