My friends in Idaho say these are served at virtually every post-funeral gathering they’ve attended. Despite the scary name these are very good. I even made them for Valentine’s Day once.
1 package of thawed hash browns (the equivalent of eight shredded potatoes)
1/2 cube of butter – melted
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 pt. sour cream
3/4 cup grated cheese
Mix the above together. Add it to a large, buttered baking dish. Dot the top with 2 Tablespoons of butter. Sprinkle a few crushed corn flakes or potato chips on top. Bake 40 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
