Or rather, we’re going to hold on to our hats. There’s a high wind watch in our area through tomorrow night. We’ve had high wind watches in Bellevue. At first I was recovering from the heat wave. (I don’t think I could ever live in the desert.) Then there’s been developements with our search for a new home. I can’t talk about it yet, but it’s made me busy as a bee. Now that I’m [...] We made it. The Man of the House and I lived through the Seattle Heat Wave of 2009. Temperatures in Seattle reached 103 degrees. Here in Bellevue it got up to 104 degrees. It was hot and like most of the people in the area, we don’t have air conditioning. Here’s what we learned: People [...] The heat wave continues. Today or tomorrow temperatures are likely to reach the triple digits. The highest recoded temperature for this area is 100 degrees. We’re may go over that. The Man of the House and I are trying to decide what we should do mark the event. Buy ice cream? Run through the lawn [...] A few months ago we had a windstorm. I was in the basement when it hit. It sounded like storm troopers invading the upstairs. The thing about this windstorm was that it wasn’t predicted by any of the weather reports I heard. The only place that talked about it beforehand was the Cliff Mass Weather [...] When I planned today’s menu I had no idea that today would be a ninety degree day. Instead I thought, “We’ve got an eleven pound ham in the freezer. Let’s have that on Wednesday.” It’s gonna’ be a hot one, inside and outside, today. It was a long, cold winter. It was pretty . . . but it was very, very cold. According to the Seattle Times, Prepare for what could become the coldest spell in nearly two decades, according to the National Weather Service.
