Mystery Solved!

Last year I asked readers if anyone could identify this plant: Recently, Richard of XID, a weed identification system, supplied the answer.  This is a lovely photo of  a lamium purpureum.  Other, more common names, for this plant include red deadnettle, purple deadnettle, or purple archangel. Pepper Harvest

I’m not sure if it was our increased dedication to weeding and fertilizing OR the record temperatures that helped us.  Whatever the cause, we’re getting a great harvest of peppers this year.

Our First Plum Harvest

The plum trees in the mobile orchard/vinyard produced their first fruit this year.  We got about two pounds of plums.  The Man of the House is freezing them for use in wine.

Lavender Garden Update

Cherry Harvest

The Man of the House harvested cherries tonight.  Our trees are  still young so the harvest was small, but a huge improvement over last year. Here are the cherries from one of our four trees.

It’s That Time of Year Again

When we noticed that the cherry trees in the mobile orchard vineyard were starting to turn color, we netted them to keep the fruit from the birds.  Once we’ve harvested the cherries it will about time to net the grape vines.
