New Year’s Day is typically the time to make resolutions. I don’t take part in this annual ritual. Instead I tend to get reflective around my birthday. Every year in July I think about my life and what I’d like to do. At that point I set goals for the next year of my life. Sometimes I reach my goals. Often I only get partway there. But I do give myself points for trying. And generally every year I’ve been able to “move” my life in the direction I wanted to go.
Having said all that, if I were to make a resolution for 2007 it would be to enjoy the moment. I’d like to just chill out and take it all in. I read on a greeting card once (the great unexpected source of much wisdom) that worry doesn’t help anything; all it does is take away from your enjoyment of today.
So here’s to today!
